Lusers: Yes, your computer can have more than one username and password
<DAU> I cannot send emails anymore. It always says the password is wrong.

<Me> *checking* The server is up and running. All services are available and I can connect fine and log in with your username and password.
<DAU> Well, I click on Outlook and then this window pops up and it tries and tries and fails.
<Me> Are you sure you are online?
<DAU> Well, I click on Outlook and then this window pops up....
<Me> What does the window say?
<DAU> "Trying to connect to *ISP*"
<Me> That's your auto-connect dialog. Outlook tries to go online. That's way before it tries to access the mailserver.
<DAU> That always worked before.
<Me> Did you change anything there?
<DAU> No. *of course not*
<Me> What's the username in there?
<DAU> *DAU tells username... the email username*
<Me> Your ISP has a totally different style of usernames. This one must be wrong.
<DAU> Oh... Well, I'll wait until tomorrow and ask my boss.

<DAU> Outlook seems to have a problem with my mailaccount. Could you please create a new one so that I can forward the mails from my old one using the webinterface?
<Me> What mailaccount and user? *DAU tells infos* Ok. What password do you want for the new account?
<DAU> Just use 123. I will change it later.
<Me> Hmm, you don't have the permissions to change your pass. Just tell me a password and I will set it.
<DAU> Uhm, I would really like to set it myself. It's nothing personal, but I just feel safer if I know that I'm the only one who knows it. That way, no one has access to my emails.
<Me> Well, ok. I will grant you the permissions temporarily so that you can set your password.
<DAU> Thanks. *short pause* Ok, password changed. Now I can start to forward the emails.
<Me> You won't need to do that. I just copied all your mails into the new account. You should now be able to access them with your Outlook.
<DAU> What? But how did you do that? I just changed the password.
<Me> Well, uhm, I'm the administrator. I don't need your password to copy your mails.
<DAU> *shocked* Could you also read them?
<Me> Theoretically, yes. But I have better things to do than reading the emails of other people.
